District Annual Budgets

Florida Law requires that the District publish an annual meeting schedule for the fiscal year one time in a newspaper of general circulation in Hillsborough County. The Board may decide to cancel or reschedule any of its meetings, or add meetings or workshops as items of business dictate. These new meetings will be advertised in the newspaper at least seven (7) days in advance, and agendas are available on the website a week prior to the meeting.
We will be appointing another homeowner to the CDD Board of Supervisors at the June CDD Meeting. This is exciting news for us as it will give homeowners a majority on the CDD Board.
The CDD Board differs from the HOA Board in some very important ways. Those appointed to the Board are considered public officials, just like any other state official from the Governor on down, and are required to:
1) Take an Oath of Office
2) File a form 1 with the Supervisor of Elections, listing sources of income, property owned, possible conflicts of interest, etc.
3) Abide by and be subject to the Florida Sunshine Laws and Codes of Ethics
4) Maintain copies of all emails, text messages, etc in accordance with public records laws.
Any homeowner interested should submit a BRIEF resume and the reasons you want to serve on the Board to Grant Phillips, the CDD Manager. His email is email@example.com
The resume should be emailed no later than May 29, 2018 so that there is time to have them forwarded to the Board Members for review.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR RESUME DIRECTLY TO ANY BOARD MEMBER AS THIS COULD CREATE A VIOLATION OF THE SUNSHINE LAWS!!!

The Board adopts the budget each year in accordance with a process outlined in the Florida Statutes. Each Fiscal Year runs from October 1 to September 30. The Board will first approve a proposed budget in the spring and will provide it to Hillsborough County at least 60 days before the budget hearing, at which time the Board will adopt the final budget and levy the resulting non-ad valorem assessments.

As the District’s audited financial statements are prepared by an independent auditor, and accepted by the Board, we will post them on the website for your information.
